Here are some interesting facts from the Vietnam War. 9,087,000 military personnel served on active duty during the official Vietnam era from August 5 1964 to May 7, 1975. 2,709,918 Americans served in uniform                 at the Vietnam War. 240 men were awarded the medal of honor during the Vietnam War. James Davis was the first soldier to die in the Vietnam War in 1961. 23,214 were fully disabled, and 5,283 lost limbs. 61% of the people killed were under 21 years old. The average age of a man killed in the Vietnam War was 23.1 years. 11,465 of people killed were under the age of 20 years. 17,539 people died were married. 75,000 soldiers from both sides were severely disabled. 58,148 were killed in the Vietnam War from both sides of the war.
